Aerial Hoop or Lyra is a steel hanging hoop which students perform tricks and poses on.
In our 6 week programs we'll take you through training techniques utilizing the hoop at a low height to gain confidence and strength before attempting them at a higher height. Strength and conditioning techniques will be taught throughout this session to further compliment the program and get you prepared for the next level.
Suspension Yoga utilizes a hammock and two handles to progressively move you from a full body workout into deep supported stretches. We use the first half of the class to strengthen our larger muscle groups in preparation to challenge our range of motion. The equipment works as a support system as it helps stabilize us as we move into more challenging poses. There's no requirement for previous yoga knowledge.
Aerial Sling is a large piece of fabric formed into a hammock. The hammock enables us to explore movements and postures with freedom and grace. Consider it as if you'll be dancing in the fabric. There's all sorts of room for artistic freedom and expression once you're taught the many sequences and combinations of moves.
Grab your stilettos, let your hair down and get ready to dance with your new partner. This is not a lap dancing class, but we'll be using the chair as a prop to dance with, crawl on and twirl around. This class has become another favorite at our studio and our instructor has taken her class around the region teaching this fun and flavorful class. This is a great introductory class if you're not quite sure where to start as no experience is necessary.
